Sam Appleton notched his 16th Ironman 70.3 Win by crushing the men's field by over 4.5 minutes at the 2019 Ironman Waco 70.3.   Appleton was injured after a high speed crash during a race in April.   While out for the spring and early summer season, Appo got married and then found some form after some quality post injury training by taking a 2nd place at Ironman 70.3 Couer d'Alene and then defending his 2018 title with a win at Ironman Santa Rosa 70.3.  His 3:47 win in Waco shows that Appleton is firing on all cylinders heading into November and with plans to line up for his first full distance Ironman in Western Australia, this young Aussie is going to be dangerous in the closing months of 2019.
