HIG Athlete Updates

Radka Unstoppable; Crowie Legendary at Davao 70.3.

Published March 25th, 2019 by Hig

Consistency is the highest form of greatness an Athlete can demonstrate and Radka Kahlefeldt and Craig Alexander bring it every time!  Both Rads and Crowie lined up for their second go in 2019, fresh off wins in Geelong and Huskinsson.   Radka found some pre-race drama when she learned her Liv bike frame had cracked in transit from Australia to The Philippines for the Ironman Davao 70.3.  Fortunately her team alongside Liv Bicycles found a suitable replacement and the Czech SuperMom didn't miss a beat pulling in a win over veteran long course standout Caroline Stefan and a solid field of professional women.

Craig Alexander and the rest of the strong men's field, including Ironman 70.3 World Champ Tim Reed and strong Aussie contenders Sam Betten and Tim Berkel, found a big deficit over eventual race winner, German Markus Rolli.  Down nearly 6 minutes after Rolli's incredible bike split, the majority of the mens field fell off the pace, but not 45 year old Alexander.  Crowie executed his trademark perfect run form with the fastest run split of the day (1:17) to bring back enough time for a 2nd place finish.

HIG's Mauricio Mendez also raced but found some mechanical troubles on the bike and was forced to withdraw from the remainder of the race.
