Svennson Powers to Ironman Virtual Racing 3 Championship

Published April 20th, 2020 by Humaninterestadmin

Sweden's Jesper Svennson, the Otillo Swim-Run World Champion and 2x wire-to-wire Ironman Champion, lined up for an unusual race start this past weekend @Ironman's VR3.   In the wake of Covid19 and the current shut down of nearly all racing around the planet, race organizer leader Ironman was quick to roll out the Virtual Pro Racing Series.  Svennson squared off against 3 other strong men on the bike, all Ironmman Champions, including Kyle Buckingham, Cody Beals and Brazil's Igor Amorelli.   VR3 focused on the bike using the Rouvy technology where each athlete completed 3 sprint laps.  Svennson posted the days fastest lap at 26:34 and finished on top of the podium for the over all victory.   Approximately 33,000 other Athletes competed in VR3, an astounding number when you consider the average Ironman race has about 2000 people.
