Olympic silver medalist in the triathlon mixed relay at the Tokyo Olympic Games, where he turned in the best performance in history by an American man (6th); was an elite junior racer before being diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma at age 19; six months later, after completing chemotherapy, he made is his senior-level World Cup debut, then went on to become an Olympic medalist and a 3x World Triathlon Mixed Relay World Championship medalist. Has been cancer-free for more than 10 years and actively supports pediatric cancer research.
